New or updated websites
Here is the address of a new macro site that is mostly complete, with just a few pages still under construction:
http://www.thecancerpreventiondiet.com/
The site adds much more information to the newly released 20th edition of the book of the same name, authored by Michio Kushi - The Cancer Prevention Diet. On the site Links Page, most of those links are operational, but some (such as Makropedia, which will have updated clinical references beyond what the book had space for) are still under construction. Personally, I find their illustration (colored graphic aid) that lays out the macrobiotic diet components to be overly complex. See instead the books by Jessica Porter (Hip Chick) or Sherry A. Rogers, MD, (The Cure Is In The Kitchen) for more empowering examples of complete macrobiotic meals.
Here is a link to the updated website of the George Ohsawa Macrobiotic Foundation (GOMF):
http://www.ohsawamacrobiotics.com/index.php
All of the site materials are easier and more fun to find. A number of new categories have been added. Remember to also take a look at their linked website (East-West) for an increasing variety of print-on-demand books. The current (January/February 2010) issue also contains my article on Macrobiotic Elderhood.
Finally, please read the following position statement issued in 2009 by a professional medical non-profit group, asking for a complete and immediate stopping of human consumption of genetically modified foods:
http://www.aaemonline.org/gmopost.html
For example, I will no longer eat edamame (steamed green soybean appetizer) at any restaurant or sushi bar which serves genetically modified food products. If they want my business, they will have to state on their menu that they do not serve genetically modified foods.
